postheadericon New QS1R rev.D Received

A new QS1R rev. D has been received to replace the unit fatally damaged by lightning. The antenna or power supply was not connected. The lightning came in via the USB port on my PC. Needless to say the PC motherboard and power supply were fried!

Checkout the damage in the last two photos...

postheadericon 2010 Georgia Qso Party - Day 2

The GQP Contest on Sunday started off very slow like Saturday. The first 4 hours or so yielded less than 100 Q's with a total of 241 for the day. Band conditions overall seemed fine, just not much contesting going on. However, the team stuck with it and ended up with a total of 762 contacts with a final score of 122,760 points! We improved upon our 2009 stats in both areas!!!

Below is a screen shot of the final score from N1MM.

postheadericon 2010 Georgia Qso Party - Day 1

Saturday of the GQP started off slow, but ended on a good note. Very quite on 20M, only 85 contacts. Ed had an incredible run on 40M SSB that lasted over an hour. Shane had a likewise run on 40M / 75M CW. 160M CW has even yielded several Q's this year. All equipment has performed very well. Antenna's are working superb and the TenTec Jupiter is a great contest rig! N1MM speaks for itself...

GQP Q's Day 1: 521 SSB and CW contacts

Operators:  Shane WA4SM, Ed W4QPR, and Grady WE4S

postheadericon 2010 Georgia QSO Party

The 2010 Georgia Qso Party is now upon us. W4QPR, WA4SM and WE4S will be giving their all for another top 10 finish! Target: 500 CW / 500 SSB Qso's. Antennas are up and tested. Rig to be used is a TenTec Jupiter, low power.

UPDATE, 4/4/10: Antenna's and rig worked well during the Missouri Qso Party. For the most part took one call to break any mobile pileup. 40M antenna works very well. 75M antenna worked anyone we could hear. Final preparation will be to check rig / tuner / antenna cabling one more time and we should be good to go! N1MM has been updated and tested.
